FAQs about Jewish Joy
Who can participate?
Everyone is welcome to participate. Whether Jewish joy is part of your own life or something you experience through family, friends, community, or connection to Jewish life, we invite you to share what it means to you.
What should I share?
Whatever feels meaningful to you! It might be a family tradition, a holiday ritual, a favorite Jewish food, music, dancing, volunteering, gathering with friends, learning something new, or an ordinary moment that makes you feel connected.
There’s no single definition of Jewish joy. We want to hear yours.
Do I need to submit a photo or video?
No. You can share your story in whatever way feels right for you. If you have a photo or video that helps tell it, we’d love to see it.
Can organizations participate?
Yes! We invite Jewish organizations, communities, schools, synagogues, groups, and other partners to take part and encourage their communities to share their own expressions of Jewish joy.
What happens after I submit?
Submissions will be reviewed to ensure they meet the campaign guidelines. You’ll be notified when your submission is posted.
Selected stories may be shared on JDC’s social media to help showcase expressions of Jewish joy from around the world.
Who is behind Jewish Joy?
Jewish Joy is an initiative of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), the global Jewish humanitarian organization. For more than a century, JDC has worked to save Jewish lives, strengthen Jewish communities, and help people in crisis around the world.
