About Jewish Joy

Jewish Joy is a social media initiative from the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) that celebrates the moments, traditions, people, places, and experiences that bring joy to Jewish life around the world.

At a time when so much attention is understandably focused on the challenges facing Jewish communities, Jewish Joy makes space for something equally real: the everyday expressions of connection, culture, community, purpose, and belonging that enrich global Jewish life.

Through photos, videos, and personal stories, we’re inviting people everywhere to share what Jewish joy means to them and help create a vibrant celebration of Jewish life in all its diversity.

Why JDC

For more than a century, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) has worked alongside Jewish communities around the world to save Jewish lives and strengthen Jewish life.

That global perspective gives us a unique window into the many ways Jewish life is lived and celebrated. From longstanding traditions to new expressions of Jewish identity and community, we see every day that Jewish joy takes countless forms.

Jewish Joy brings those experiences together, connecting people across countries, cultures, and generations through what brings meaning, pride, connection, and joy to their Jewish lives.
